Good Friday 2019
4th Station of the Cross
My Journey from the Mass of Chrism at St Chads Wednesday, ‘Les Miserables’ at the Hippodrome, ” to Love is to see the Face of God!”. St Francis at Kineton, to Join the Choir and Musicians to Celebrate with Fr David Tams the Mass of the Lord’s Supper Thursday, to The Walk of Witness through Birmingham Today, with Archbishop Bernard, the Seminarians from St Mary’s College Oscott and mixed denominations of the faithful, ending with the Passion of the Lord at 3pm St Chads; it has been a busy emotional week, squeezing three funerals to add to the measure. The weather has been a blessing today and I can smell barbecue’s already in Acocks Green.
I’m back at St Francis, Kineton to play for the Easter Vigil and Sunday Mass at St Mary’s college Oscott for Easter Sunday Mass and Lunch.
My Favourite Station is the 4th Station where Jesus meets his Mother on the Road to Calvary. It’s a touching reminder of the Love every Mother has for her Children. Mary knew all her life the destiny of her Son and I can’t. imagine her grief and can’t help think of Mum and how she worried about us all, and am thankful how lucky we are. Mother’s always hold the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, I do look forward tthatso seeing two Mums and being allowed in lol!
It is one of those days in which I hope I have done enough and I see the kindness and sacrifice in others that I see in my true friend for the Ultimate Love, that I grieve and weep for today, and rejoice as the devil got well and truly knocked off his Perch!
I can imagine what Mary said on Easter Sunday! Be’ Jasus you’re back! That’s Bridie for you and ‘you wasn’t long!’, as I nipped out to the shops to get Mother a Pack of 20 and a box of Jaffa Cakes, It’s a Mystery lol!
