Easter Sunday

Happy Easter to you all! Love Reigns! May the Risen Lord be your inspiration and salvation. What a beautiful Easter morning. My thoughts and prayers go out those missing family members’, especially the those I have served. Also those Christians who died in the church bombings in Sri Lanka, very sad….

On a more lighter note my thanks to the Music Group, Francis, Margo & John at St Francis, Kineton, together with Fr Martin for their kind welcome. It was wonderful to gather outside around the Easter Fire to see the Paschal Candle lit and contribute to the celebrations. Happy Easter to Fr David Tams celebrating Mass at Shipston and Brailes this morning.

A great film to watch along side the Passion of Christ and Ben hur the Easter holidays is ‘Risen’.
In 33 AD, a Roman Tribune in Judea is tasked to find the missing body of Jesus Christ, who rose from the dead. Another great film is the Song of Bernadette, a favourite of Mum’s and classic black & white for a cuppa with your Easter Eggs.

St Bernadette

St. Bernadette of Lourdes was a saint born on January 7, 1844 in Lourdes, France. She received several visions from the Virgin Mary starting in 1858. When she reported these visions, civil authorities attempted to force her to recant her accounts. She refused, and word spread about the cave she had found with supposed miracle healing springs. Napolean III’s wife helped her achieve her vision to build a church at the cave. Lourdes emerged as a pilgrimage site for worshippers from around the world. She died on April 16, 1879 and was canonized as a saint in 1933 by Pope Pius XI.

I’m heading for Mass at St Marys College Oscott & Lunch, then a well earned rest. Have a wonderful day and may Love always reign in your Hearts.

Happy Easter from MaCushla. x
