St Mary’s College Oscott 2019

Easter Sunday 2019

I was invited to a wonderful Lunch, after Easter Sunday Mass, which was celebrated by his Grace, Archbishop Bernard Longley, together with the Seminarians, their families and close friends. The Chapel was adorned with a sea of fresh flowers, which were illuminated by the Easter Sunday sun, which shone through the beautiful stained glass windows, throwing a full spectrum of colours, through the haze of whisping and levitating incense, to the acapello of the Offertory Motet, which was practised all Lent and delivered by the Schola, in precise parts and pitch perfection to my Audiation.

I was joined at Lunch by Seminarian Pascal Unce from London, to be ordained next year and David Donaghue from Northampton who drew me in to perform at the Worship Praise, pre Pslam Sunday Celebrations. After an amazing Easter Lunch, with alcohol back on the menu, we gathered outside by Our Lady’s Statue, as the the Seminarians headed of for their Easter Break. I was given some flowers to take home. I look forward to peforming at David Donaghue’s Ordination 20th July 2019, at the Cathedral Church of Our Lady Immaculate and St Thomas of Canterbury, Northampton. David has some Co Mayo Mayo Heritage!, ‘God Help Us’. Deacon David, is just one of the 12, ‘Apostles‘ from Oscott, to be Ordained this year. 2019 will be a Memorable year for them, with the Canonisation of the Blessed John Henry Newman, this October. I’m currently reading, ‘Apologia Pro Vita Sua’, by Newman, together with his poems and mediatations. A truly amazing human being, Ordained from Priest, to Cardinal in 1879,
He wrote the popular hymns “Lead, Kindly Light” and “Praise to the Holiest in the Height”. Newman wasn’t afraid to visit, the sick, and those dying with consumption, when Poverty raged in working class Edgbaston. A man of great Love for the people.

I look forward to performing at the Praise and Worship on 18th May 2019 and offer my prayers and thanks to some very special young men who will contribute to so much to Vocations and spread God’s Love. As Catenian who supports Voations to the Priesthood and a Brother of North Warwickshire Circle 111, I look foward to joining the Seminarians at Vesper’s on Sundays evenings at St Mary’s College Oscott. The Seat Wisdom, where Our Lady nurtures the Seeds of Vocation, in ongoing Love. A blessing and gift to take home. I pray you all have a wonderful weekend, God Bless Macushla.
